Ma Vie en Rose

The current issue of L'Objet d'Art showcases recent auction sales, including that of a seventeenth century Boulle commode, an eighteenth century signed Migeon Louis XV bureau plat and a signed pair of Tilliard Louis XV fauteuils and a pair of Louis Seize gilt bronze wall sconces, sold to Versailles by the marchand-mercier Dominique Daguerre. The tidy sum for all of the pieces was under 1.1 million Euros, which, when you think of quality and provenace is really pretty amazing. Sure it's the price of a Manhattan apartment - but not a great one. So for a mere two million dollars and some savy shopping you can manage a first rate life for two in the city that never sleeps... surely it can't be that hard to do.

Bird

Frightened birds.
Would it solve the fear I feel to fly away?
When the sparrow flees my approach does it 'light again, content?
It goes about pecking at seed and crumbs, again.
It resumes as though it had not flown,
But it has.
Flown.
